Because I saw this one on the road today and had no idea that it was already available.

It may not be...Jagvar used to work there (Herndon)
and talked about seeing pre-production or even Eurospec versions of cars well before they hit US dealers.

Does this replace the CC and the Beetle? I can’t not see beetle inspiration in that rear quarter roof line combo.

I’ve seen one, but I think VW is doing dealership tours with them.

Can confirm, VWoA HQ gets all kinds of VAG cars and definitely would have an Arteon before they hit US lots.

They should take it back to being unavailable. It's terrible looking.

I only saw an Atlas for the first time this week. Coming out of a school, of course, so that ad worked on someone.

I’m pretty sure that was a promotional vehicle. It made the rounds on some VAG Fb pages I’m on.

That’s a little less forgettable than other VWs, so it’s a good thing, I guess.

I’m gonna reheat my now cold and worn-out idea, but VW needs to build a performance version called the “Senna”. Arteon Senna.
I’ll see myself out.

So I checked on VW and Audi Canada.
Arteon starts at $ 47995, A5 Sportback $ 47950. And chances are the lease programs on the A5 would be decent, since BMW is massively discounting 4GCs here, sometimes it’s cheaper than a 3.
That could explain why I haven’t seen a single one.

Yeah, he mentioned something along those lines. This was at Lindsay VW which is fairly close to VW HQ.

This was in Rockville, MD which is not particularly close to VW HQ. It was like half a mile from a VW dealer though, and it did have VA plates.

Yes the pic I posted above that I took with my phone, while driving, like a douche who shouldn’t do such thing, looks to be the same as the one on the VW website.
VW USA headquarters is in a different part of the DC suburbs from where I took the pic , about 25 miles away.

It’s a fancier more upmarket CC replacement, apparently.

Herndon is about 25 miles away so it’s not super far, although that drive could easily take a couple hours during rush hour.

My local dealer got a visit from one last week; a VW rep was driving it and it had Michigan manufacturer plates. They don’t expect to see any hit their lot for retail sales until the first quarter of next year, from what they told me.
Looks sharp. I like it better than the CC.
sm70- why not Duesenberg?

They are supposed to go on sale this Fall, so they could already be shipping.

The Ft Lauderdale auto show (S. FL) already had a pre-production model on displa y in March so it could be one of those vehicles.

Actually, it has been delayed until 2019 due to delays with emissions testing.
The new WLTP worldwide emissions standards testing has been very time consuming since all manufacturers have to certify just about every powertain and model variation that they have. So there’s a huge backlog in testing that needs to be done.
